Juan de Nova....

Well, I'm of to Juan de Nova Island (Mozambique Channel) in a week or so's time. The place has an interesting history (http://www.425dxn.org/dc3mf/juan_dn.html) but I am going there to trap rats and cats as these invasive species are predating the sooty terns that breed there. The sooty tern colony at Juan de Nova may be the largest in the world with around 2 million pairs! We will travel via. military aircraft and will spend 6 weeks trapping (as above) but also describing the fauna and flora of the place about which very little is known.Au revoir!!....
